Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 14, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Edoku (“the App”) handles information when you use the App.

1. Information We Handle

Edoku is designed as an offline-playable puzzle app. We do not sell your personal information.

The App may handle the following information:

Product events do not include puzzle contents, scores, XP, Game Center identity, names, email addresses, or user-entered text.

2. Where Information Is Stored

3. How We Use Information

We use information only to provide and improve the App experience, including:

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell personal information.

Information is shared with Apple services required for App functionality, including the App Store, StoreKit, iCloud, Game Center, and local notification services. Apple’s handling of information is described in Apple’s Privacy Policy.

Edoku also uses PostHog EU Cloud to process anonymous product events. Edoku does not send PostHog your puzzle contents, scores, XP, Game Center identity, name, email address, or user-entered text.

5. Product Analytics

Release builds send a fixed set of anonymous product events to PostHog EU Cloud. These events help us understand if players start and complete puzzles, return to the App, view Full Access, and complete or cancel purchase and restore actions.

Edoku does not use these events to identify you or create a player profile. Product analytics does not change your gameplay, score, progress, entitlement, or saved sessions.

6. iCloud Sync

Edoku uses Apple’s iCloud service (CloudKit) to sync completed grids, your Daily Grid doodle collection, and statistics between devices using the same iCloud account.

Synced information includes completed puzzle identifiers, completion dates, game modes and difficulties, play times, hints and mistakes, scores, XP, and game-start counts. Edoku also uses technical identifiers to combine progress without counting it twice. Daily Grid artwork is included in the App; the image files are not uploaded.

This information is stored in a private iCloud database associated with your account. This sync feature does not upload unfinished puzzles, app preferences, or purchase information.

iCloud Sync is on by default when iCloud is available. You can manage it in Settings → Play & Personalize → iCloud Sync. This setting applies to all your devices using the same iCloud account.

Turning sync off stops progress syncing across your devices. Progress already saved on each device and in iCloud is kept, and you can continue playing locally. Turning sync on from any device resumes syncing across your devices and combines their saved progress. Devices that are offline apply the latest setting when they reconnect. Changing the sync setting requires an internet connection.

You can choose Delete iCloud Progress on the same settings page to delete completed grids, Daily Grid collection dates, and statistics stored in iCloud. This also turns sync off across your devices. It keeps all progress saved locally on each device and does not affect purchases or Game Center records. Deleting iCloud progress requires an internet connection.

A small record of the sync setting and deletion remains in iCloud so devices that reconnect can recognize the change before uploading progress. This record contains no game history. If you later confirm that you want to resume syncing from any device, syncing resumes across your devices and their saved local progress is uploaded to iCloud again.

Deleting Edoku from a device does not, by itself, delete progress already stored in iCloud.

7. Game Center

If you use Game Center, your leaderboard activity is handled by Apple Game Center and may be visible according to your Game Center settings. You can manage Game Center in your iOS settings.

8. Purchases

Full Access purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Edoku does not receive or store your payment card details.

9. Notifications

Daily Grid reminders are optional and off by default. If you enable reminders, the App schedules local notifications on your device. You can disable reminders in the App or manage notification permissions in iOS settings.

10. Retention

Local gameplay data and preferences remain on your device unless you delete the App or reset relevant data through available App or iOS options.

Progress saved in iCloud is stored separately from local app data. Turning sync off or deleting the App does not automatically delete that iCloud copy. Use Delete iCloud Progress to remove it, as described in iCloud Sync above. The sync setting and deletion record remain so the App can apply your choice across devices.

Game Center and App Store purchase information are handled by Apple according to Apple’s policies and your Apple account settings.

Anonymous product events remain in PostHog according to the configured project retention settings.

11. Children’s Privacy

Edoku is not directed to children under the age required by local law for consent to data processing.

12. Changes to This Policy
